Now Back on the Tee

Welcome to Asking Fore a Friend, a golf blog for people who love the game, love to get better at the game, or at least love pretending they’re getting better at the game.

This offseason, I’ll be grinding through workouts, swing-speed training, weight-loss efforts, and the occasional identity crisis over distance control. I’ll break down my swing mechanics, track progress, expose setbacks, and document whatever else happens while I try to become a better golfer by March. After that, it is go time! I will be playing in Amateur events in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area and around the country.

But this blog is more than my personal descent into golf obsession.

Here’s what you can expect across the four main categories:

1. The Grind

This is where I document the chaos. Swing changes, training aids, practice routines, failed experiments, tiny wins, and the brutal reality of getting better at this game. If something lowers my handicap, you’ll hear about it. If something makes it go up, you’ll definitely hear about it.

2. Weekend Roundup

Every Monday (ish), I’ll recap what happened in the world of pro golf: PGA Tour, LPGA, LIV, DP World Tour, Korn Ferry, Epson, PGA Tour Americas, mini tours, and whatever else I can find. If someone hoists a trophy, chokes a lead, dumps it in the water, or shoots a 59, I’ll recap it here.

3. News + Trends

Golf moves fast. Well, the news does, the pace of play usually doesn’t. This section covers the latest headlines, rumors, equipment leaks, industry drama, fashion trends, controversies, and anything else burning up Golf X, the everything app (formerly known as Twitter), before it inevitably fades into the void.

4. Gear + Reviews

Clubs, balls, launch monitors, gadgets, training aids, accessories — if it’s gear, I would love to talk about it. New releases, personal bag changes (I am a tinkerer), honest reviews, and the occasional “Did buying this make me better or just poorer?” analysis.

My goal is to put out solid content people actually want to spend time reading. Facts first. Humor second. Passion always. If you love golf, or even just like being golf-adjacent, you’re in the right place.

Let’s get to work. And yes, feel free to ask fore a friend.
